VNC WINS A SITTER BY 8 WICKETS AGAINST SILIGURI ULKA AT 1ST DIV CRICKET

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 06th November, 2015: At the onset of the winters in Siliguri the 1st division cricket league has started in Siliguri subdivision under the aegis of Siliguri Mahakuma Krira Parishad. Today, the third match was held at Kanchenjungha Stadium between Vivekananda Club (VNC) and Siliguri Ulka Sporting Club (SUC). After winning the toss Siliguri Ulka Club elected to bat first.  A total of a meager 81 runs was scored by SUC losing all the wickets in 28 overs. The highest scorer of SUC was Bubai Biswas, who scored 26 runs. As expected, VNC won the match by 8 wickets in hand. They took 24.5 overs to topple the score of SUC. Md. Firaz was the highest scorer for VNC, who scored 27 runs. Chanchal Sarkar of VNC was declared Man of the match who took 3 wickets by giving only 21 runs in 8 overs.
